I'm going to let you in on a litle secret about me: I'm about as non-crafty as they come. I'm not one of these moms who can whip up a craft project using random items from around the house and have it turn out awesome. Rebecca, on the other hand, loves crafts. Sometimes she asks to "do a craft" and after I break out in a cold sweat, I say "uuuhhh, sure?" and then we do something super exciting like cut out paper hearts and glue them on paper. That's about the extent of it.
I decided that with homeschooling I would try to do one craft project a week. Surely I can handle that, right? Of course these will certainly not be things I come up with......that's what the internet is for:) This week's craft was found here; I thought it looked neat, not too hard, and went along with the butterfly theme. We did it this afternoon.......turned out pretty good and she enjoyed it.

If I were cool like my friend Heather there would be pictures of her actually doing the craft but alas, I am not that cool (and I forgot).
A word of warning: when doing this craft, it is probably not a good idea to realize the night before that the only crayons in the house are the new-ish box of Crayola 64 count crayons that your daughter bought WITH HER OWN MONEY. Because then you will have to beg plead bribe your daughter with the promise of a new box of crayons in order to use some of her beloved crayons (believe me, around here, they are beloved!) to make crayon shavings. And you will feel worse if you realize that the reason there are no other crayons in the house is because awhile back you cleaned out a bunch of stuff to make room for homeschooling stuff and thought "why should I keep all these old, non-sharp crayons?" and tossed them. Yah, THAT was a brilliant move. I'm just sayin'.
Next week: monkeys. We're a thrill a minute around here, folks:)
