Our annual mountain mamas and kiddos trip was a great success! We stayed at Blue Ridge Village again and had adventures each day.
Heather booked a tour at a working apple orchard and we had no idea what to expect but it turned out to be so neat! A lady did a presentation on butterflies and bugs then took the kids outside to explore.

then we had a hayride (minus the hay) and this man told us stories about the history of the orchard

And then this couple played mountain music for us and let each kid try out the banjo

they each got to try the apple peeler and eat an apple fresh from the orchard

There was also lots of hiking and waterfall viewing

and a stop at a really fun gem mine!

they had a couple of college students there to tell the kids about the rocks and gems they found

of course there was time on the Blue Ridge Parkway

and a visit to an alpaca farm where we got a really cool tour and learned at ton about alpacas and other animals

Thankful for the homeschooling flexibility to take extended field trips like this and the good friends that help make it happen!
